Online data pool of HR for battle and control launched from Kovid-19

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India (GOI) has developed an online data pool of vital human resources in terms of fight and control against the Kovid-19 epidemic. Online data pool on Kovid Warriors that includes doctors, nurses and other health care professionals, NCC volunteers, Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, National Youth Centre and ex-servicemen who can be used by the administration at state, district or municipal levels.

United nation Chinese Language Day was celebrated on April 20

The United Nations celebrates Language Day to promote multilingualism, cultural diversity and equal use of all six official languages. Chinese was incorporated as a working language by the General Assembly in 1973 and then by the Security Council in 1974.

Uttar Pradesh geotag has become the first state with community kitchens

On April 19, 2020, Uttar Pradesh became the first state in the country in the Geotag community kitchen located in 75 districts. The up government collaborated with Google in the Geotag community kitchen through the Google Maps app. About 12 lakh food packets per day are manufactured by 7,368 community kitchens. Out of a total of 7,368 community kitchens, 668 community kitchens are being run by religious institutions and NGOs.

Rare leather turtle nests on Thailand's beaches

Thailand has found the highest number of rare leather sea turtle nests on tourist beaches during the two decades. The coastal areas around Phuket and Fang Nga have had a return of marine organisms in the last few months. Coastal authorities have found 11 turtle nests since November 2019, the highest number in two decades. Leather turtle nests were not found in the last five years, the main reason for this is human intervention or fishing gear.

CFTRI has provided high protein biscuits to Covid-19 patients

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research has provided high-protein biscuits to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi for Kovid-19 patients who are under treatment in the hospital. The recipe for protein-rich biscuits has been developed by CSIR-Central Food Technology Research Institute (CFTRI) at Mysore. Biscuits contain 14 per cent protein compared to ordinary biscuits, which is much higher than the common biscuits with 8-9 per cent protein.

New model to assist in communication and navigation

Researchers working at The Indian Institute of Geoscience, Navi Mumbai, have developed a global model for predicting the electron density of ionosifier with data coverage on a large scale that is important for communication and navigation. A new global ionosphoric model based on the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) has been developed, which uses a long-time observation of ionosphoric, which will estimate the electron density of ionosphere and peak parameters.

High-level task force set up by India to combat Kovid-19

A High Level Task Force has been set up on 19th April, 2020 under the co-chairmanship of Member, Niti Aayog and Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India for Kovid-19 related works in the field of science and vaccine development. The Task Force will consist of members from AYUSH, ICMR, DRDO, CSIR, NITIYoga and Ministry of Science and Technology.
